Commentary:
A snowy day. Light snow is falling...a bit of rain as well in low lying areas, but still mostly snow. Bolton Valley is reporting up to three inches. Temperatures are in the 40s. Expect trail conditions to change from frozen granular and hard pack to powder and packed powder.

The 2012 Stowe Derby is scheduled for Sunday, February 26th. America's oldest ski race.

Also, in the first weekend of March, Burke Mountain, in north eastern Vermont is holding its annual Dog Sled Races. This event is rated as one of the top 10 winters events in Vermont.

Forecast:
Tuesday: High pressure moves to our east today, allowing increasing clouds and milder air to work into the region. A storm west of Chicago will track northeast, to our north, sweeping a cold front toward us with snow or rain showers, tapering off Wednesday.
Tuesday: Sun fading behind increasing high clouds. Highs in the 30s to near 40 north, in the low to mid 40s south. Light winds becoming southerly 10 to 15 mph.
Mountain Forecast:
Tuesday: Sun will gradually fade behind increasing high clouds Tuesday, the clouds staying above the summits, with an increasing south wind, and turning warmer. Clouds lowering onto the summits overnight with periods of snow showers. Snow showers will taper off Wednesday, and early clouds across the summits will lift from southwest to northeast, breaking for some sun south, while the White Mountains above 5000 feet remain mostly in the clouds. Breezy, with temperatures falling some in the afternoon.
