Comments:
Firm spring conditions reign on our Nordic terrain, as well, with 4 trails skate groomed yesterday. The machines stayed off the snow last night, so we'll have that same 9km of grooming today. With chilly overnight temps, we've also held off on setting any new classic tracks. As always, we have 80km of backcountry open for exploring on skis or snowshoes, with challenging firm and variable spring surfaces. The wax of the day is Violet.

Comments:
Trail Status: The practice loop and the Powerline are closed, there are bare spots and thin ice on early Timberlane. If skiers want to walk to Crosscut#1, it is all good cover with 3-14 inch base after that. The Burt Trail has the best surface and base, and the Bear Run past the Hut is awesome. 40% of the trails are skiable out in the Ranch, including Timberlane, Crosscut 2, Ranch Camp, Old Bear Run, Burt and Bruce and are all very good. All the trails, skiable or not, are open and suitable for snowshoeing.

Comments:
Mike is grooming 15 kilometers around the cabin today to soften it up a bit. It was 40 degrees yesterday and down to 10 degrees last night, so it is icy this morning. Please use caution when hiking to the upper trails. There is enough snow in the field here for a beginner lesson, but all skiers must hike about a mile and a half before skiing. Novices should use snow shoes to visit the Slayton Pasture Cabin. Mike will be glad to see you..
